Sound video feedback and learner response

 1) WWW: .good transitions (dip to black)

                   .well sourced image

                   .good consistent pace of editing

                   .very good contrast of images

                   .parallel music is very effective

EBI:    .not 60 seconds - need to meet the brief

.avoid stock photos (watermarked) - attention to detail

                    .ends abruptly

                    .audio level is too loud

2) WWW: .easy to distinguish between parallel and contrapuntal
                 . transitions are good
                 .pace is good

    EBI:       .sound is too loud
.add a fade out transition in the end

3) WWW: I used images that highly contrasted each other which reinforced the parallel and contrapuntal sound to be effective. The images I used had a good pace which helped the transitions I used become more apparent therefore, emphasising the contrast of images between the first half and the second half.
EBI:    I should have made the video 60 seconds by adding more pictures or extending the time each image was shown so that I could meet the brief. I should try to avoid using images with watermarks or crop the watermark out of the image by paying attention to small details. In my next video task I'll try to add a 'fade out' transition at the end so my video doesn't end abruptly, allowing my video to end with a smooth transition. I should try to pay attention to detail more by adjusting the audio levels so it's an appropriate level of loudness/quietness.

4) Learner response: compare your own video against your evaluation of the top three videos in the class. Whose did you think was best and why? How could you have improved your own video? I really liked Laiyla’s,Gurleen’s and. Rukiya’s sound video because it was really easy to distinguish between parallel and contrapuntal sound and there were good sourced images. She also had videos as well as photos which fit with the motivational/ upbeat atmosphere she was trying to create.

5) Finally, what have you learned about the importance of sound to film and TV through this week's work? Sound is important as it creates a sense of realism and immersing the audience in the real world which is essential for a successful film
