Film & TV Language: Mise-en-scene recreation practical task

PLAN: The Blair Witch Project-apology scene C- In order to re-create the original character's costume, the actor wore a durag in the place of a winter hat.   L-There was use of a flashlight to create a harsh, almost artificial light on his face which created two deeply contrasting colours on his face to emphasise mystery and sorrow due to the atmosphere being gloomy. A- We made sure he displayed extreme vulnerability and sorrow, in order to mirror the original character. M- No makeup was used. This perfectly re-created the simple look of the original character.  P- There were no props involved.  S- This was filmed in a room with a black background to elevate the dullness in the room.   Script: In a dark pitch room, a   harsh light  casts shadows on his face, which displays a deeply sorrowful  expression  as he apologizes to everyone with teary eyes and regrets. SANDEEP: I just want to apologize to everyone ... Heavy breathing, on the verge of tear...

                             1)             C- The costume that the doll is wearing is childlike and colourful which                                                       contrasts to his dark and evil facial expression.Perhaps, by using bright and                                                   colourful clothes on the character, they want the audience to follow the stereotypes                                         that they may think of when seeing this character.            ...

My favourite production review:

Two of my favourite productions that were displayed in the Media Awards was Dyari's and Raagni's as their production included many key media techniques, therefore, emphasising their amazing work. The perfect use of sound effects creates anticipation and intensity throughout the scenes (e.g when Dyari opened the mystery box). They also vividly demonstrate the actor's vulnerablilty perfectly by taking close shots which creates an atmosphere of mystery. Dyari uses high-key and low-key lighting to emphasise the feeling of fear and threat as the audience can sense incoming drama and mystery and so does Raagni. The actors in both performances wear casual/everyday clothing which helps make the audience feel a connection with the character and perhaps relate. These subtle changes that Dyari and Raagni did to their scenes created a significant impact to the overall scenes/performances.

Poster analysis

Poster 1: What do you think the film is about and what might the storyline be? I think that this may be about a robot takeover due to what the tagline says. There is a clear star power who is the appeal of the movie who I'm assuming is the protagonist hero. However, there is a desaturated light casted on the female wgho is the antagonist and the femme fatale.I know this because the woman is carrying a prop ( ciggarette) which suggests criminality. What genre(s) do you think the film belongs to? I think that this film is an action film as the cover is very flashy as it has 2 contrasting colours (black and orange). There is also an enigma code Who do you think is the target audience? I think the target audience is mainly teenagers and up who love action movies. Poster 2: What do you think the film is about and what might the storyline be? I think the film is about teenagers who explore things together as in the poster they clear...
